Who We Are
Advanced Supportive Living was founded by Jama Alpacino Libiz and Paul Dona Michaud on March 2018 in Novato, California. We are composed of highly skilled nurses who are dedicated to providing exceptional supportive living services to patients who are intellectually and/or developmentally disabled over the age of 18.
Mission Statement
At Advanced Supportive Living, our mission is to provide individualized support to people who choose to live independently in their own homes. Through our Supported Living Services (SLS) and Independent Living Services (ILS), we are committed to empowering individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities to take control of their lives, make informed decisions, and exercise responsibility over their personal choices.
We offer a comprehensive range of supportive services designed to promote independence and enhance quality of life. Through person-centered planning, we assist individuals in making informed decisions about where and how they live, ensuring successful, sustainable community living that is tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and level of support.
Our Philosophy
We believe that both supported and independent living services are powerful approaches that enable individuals to live fulfilling lives within their communities.
Supported Living Services (SLS) provide long-term, structured support for individuals who require ongoing assistance to maintain independence in their own homes. Independent Living Services (ILS) focus on skill development and guidance for individuals who are capable of living more independently but benefit from targeted support.
Our role is to coordinate and provide the necessary services that allow each individual to live in a safe, secure, and dignified home of their choosing. By promoting choice, teaching rights and responsibilities, and fostering independence, we empower individuals to build personalized support systems that enhance their lifestyle and encourage active participation in their communities.
Our Commitment
Advanced Supportive Living recognizes that every individual has the inherent right to make their own decisions. We proudly collaborate with North Bay Regional Center to develop and implement individualized support plans that reflect each person’s evolving needs across both SLS and ILS models
Our goals include:
- Supporting individuals in exercising their civil rights, including participation in voting and civic engagement
- Assisting individuals in accessing quality healthcare services
- Promoting self-confidence, independence, and self-esteem
- Providing flexible levels of support that evolve as individuals gain skills and independence

- The right to choose where and with whom to live
- The ability to control the environment, character, and appearance of one’s home
- The freedom to select and change service providers and direct support staff
- Active participation in the Individual Program Plan (IPP) process to ensure services align with personal goals and preferences
- Access to flexible services that adapt to changing needs without requiring relocation, as long as independent or supported living remains the preferred option
- The opportunity to provide feedback to the regional center regarding satisfaction with services, contributing to ongoing evaluation and improvement
